Designer Introduction
Milton Glaser is an American graphic designer, best known for the "I 'heart' NY" logo, his Bob Dylan poster, the DC bullet logo used by DC Comics from 1977 to 2005, and the Brooklyn Brewery logo. He also founded New York Magazine with Clay Felker in 1968. As a New York-native, Glaser’s best-known work, is none other than the iconic “I heart NY” logo. He created the "I 'heart' NY" design based on Wells Rich Greene's advertising campaign, where it then began the "I 'heart'" popularity across the country and world. He was awarded the American National Medal of the Arts on February 25, 2010 in Washington D.C. for his services and contributions to graphic design. I selected Milton Glaser because I like his work: “I heart NY” logo as well as he is one of the most acclaimed graphic designers of the United States. His work for the past 50 years has shaped visual arts in publishing, branding, and interior design. He is also recognized for his inspiring principles in creating meaningful art.

Illustration Steps
I draw a portrait of designer Milton Glaser. For the design process, I followed the illustration steps. First, placing the reference image. Second, I created outline layer to draw the organic outline of the portrait by using pencil tool. This is Tracing. I draw between all of the value and where they meet. Lastly, I made live paint that I duplicated the outline layer and fill in the color.
Notes that in some details, I also created different layer for each part. Such as beard, I used paintbrush to draw one by one. In the hair part, I used pencil tool to finish. I did not draw the details on the cloth because I wanted to focus on the face. When I finished the color and turned off my outlines I duplicated the LP layer and expend it.

Final Poster Design
This poster did graphically mimic the designer’s style, and it includes the vector portrait. Fonts used connect with the topic and specifically used in the designer’s name. The poster looks playful and fun within the context of this designer’s portrait.
